1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the hintrix API ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

hintrix provides a web crawling and content extraction API that allows users to scrape web pages, extract structured data, crawl websites, and audit pages for AI search visibility. The Service is accessed via API keys and operates on a credit-based usage model.

3. Account and API Keys

To use the Service, you must create an account and obtain an API key. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your API key confidential and secure
• All activity that occurs under your account and API key
• Providing accurate and current registration information

If you believe your API key has been compromised, you must regenerate it immediately from your dashboard.

4. Credits and Payment

• The Service operates on a prepaid credit system. Each API action costs a specific number of credits as documented in the API documentation.
• Credits are non-refundable once used.
• All credit purchases are final and non-refundable.
• Credits never expire as long as your account remains active.
• Payment processing is handled by Creem.io. By making a purchase, you also agree to their terms of service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Crawl or scrape pages that require authentication or login credentials
• Access, collect, or store personal data in violation of applicable privacy laws
• Crawl websites in violation of their robots.txt directives or terms of service
• Engage in any illegal activity or facilitate the violation of any law
• Scrape content for the purpose of creating competing services
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls
• Overload, disrupt, or impair the Service or its infrastructure
• Certain domains are technically blocked, including social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest, Snapchat, Threads) and dark web domains are blocked. Attempts to scrape these return a 403 error.

6. Rate Limits and Fair Use

The Service enforces rate limits as documented in the API documentation. Repeated or deliberate abuse of rate limits, or any activity that degrades the Service for other users, may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your account without compensation.

7. Service Availability

hintrix strives to maintain high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime.

8. Intellectual Property

Content retrieved through the Service belongs to the respective website owners. hintrix does not claim ownership of any content crawled or extracted on your behalf. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of retrieved content complies with applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

9. Data Handling

Crawled content is temporarily stored for up to 7 days to facilitate delivery and is then permanently deleted. hintrix does not use your crawled content for any purpose other than delivering it to you. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. hintrix does not warrant that:

• The Service will meet your specific requirements
• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
• Results obtained through the Service will be accurate or reliable
• Any errors in the Service will be corrected

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, hintrix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you have paid to hintrix in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless hintrix from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Changes to Terms

hintrix reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any material changes take effect, via email or a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Termination

Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. You may close your account through the dashboard or by contacting us. hintrix may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.
